RehaStart

DESCRIPTION

The project RehaStart “Research and development of technologies and methodologies for the implementation of tele-rehabilitation solutions with high economic and social sustainability” has been developed within the framework of the ROP Sicilia ERDF 2014/2020 Action 1.1.5 “Support for the technological advancement of enterprises through the funding of pilot lines and early product validation and large-scale demonstration actions” and envisages the development and validation of a platform for tele-rehabilitation and tele-assistance services with high economic and social sustainability, with a management web portal, home devices for patients and elderly people and with supporting Artificial Intelligence elements.

The research project comprises 7 different phases.

Phase I – Design of Hardware and Software Modules

which aims at defining the usability requirements of all components of the architecture and defining the design of the key elements of the technology solutions for telerehabilitation.

Phase II – Artificial Intelligence Elements

Which aims to design the artificial intelligence elements that will make the overall system more usable and effective.

Phase III – Prototype Realisation

This phase sees the development of the first prototypes of the key elements of the RehaStart architecture.

Phase IV – Development of Hardware, Software, and AI Modules

This phase aims to develop all the individual key elements of the system architecture realized in Phase III, so as to make them fully available for the demonstration clinical trial.

Phase V – Integration and architectural development

This phase sees the further development of the entire architecture and the expansion of the content in terms of exercises according to the indications from clinical validation trials.

Phase VI – Clinical Validation

This phase involves the organization of a demonstration clinical trial in a real operational setting of the RehaStart infrastructure as a whole.

Phase VII – Coordination, Dissemination, Exploitation

The objective of this phase is to ensure the effective coordination of all technical activities, the management of intellectual property and the dissemination of project results.
