AGRIMET

DESCRIPTION

The AGRIMET project aims to create an advanced monitoring platform to be used in the agricultural sector. The objective is to create a system able to monitor soils, weather and thus the state of growth and health of crops.

The project involves the acquisition and processing of the following surveys:

  • Aerial, carried out with radio-controlled drones
  • Terrestrial or proximity surveys using an automatic robot
  • From networks of weather stations in the agricultural fields
  • From data made available on online platforms (satellites, etc.)

The project comprises six different phases:

Phase I – Industrial research in aerial and proximity surveying in agriculture

An in-depth study on methodologies and techniques aimed to determine all possible crop diseases by using aerial and proximity surveys.

Phase II – Design of aerial and ground survey systems

Namely a robot and an aircraft with different load capacities and flight autonomy.

Phase III – Development and realisation of the proximity survey robot and the data processing and consolidation system

With graphical prescription maps.

Phase IV – Research Activity Pilot

Which enables the testing of the AGRIMET prototype.

Phase V – Analysis of platform data

Which provides for the verification of data both consolidated and non-consolidated and made available to operators.

Phase VI – Dissemination of research activity

Which includes the dissemination of data resulting from research and development in the various forms of communication envisaged.

The proposed investment contributes to technological development, improved access to information and communication technologies, and the introduction of technological innovations in companies operating in strategic areas of the Sicilian agro-industrial system.
