CULTURGAME.IT

DESCRIPTION

The project CULTURGAME.IT “CULTURAL VIDEOGAME NATIONAL PROGRAMME” has been developed within the framework of the NOP Research and Innovation 2014-2020 “Notice for the presentation of industrial research and experimental development projects in the 12 areas of specialization identified by PNR 2015-2020 (Cultural Heritage)” and aims at acquiring new knowledge and specific skills for the valorization of tangible and intangible cultural heritage through digital-video-ludic solutions, i.e. through the development and validation of a number of videogame prototypes (for self-consumption and site-specific) for the dissemination of knowledge in the cultural sphere and with possible spin-offs in the tourism sector.

The research project is divided into 8 Work Packages.

WP1 Organisation and Ethics

Aims at the scientific management of the project.

Expected Results

R1.1 Project Management Plan

R1.2 Ethics Manual

WP2 State of the Art and Requirements

The aim of this WP is to analyze the scientific literature and compare the partners’ experiences with international experiences to identify and systematize the requirements needed for the development of video games and its hardware and software components.

Expected Results

R2.1 – State of the art and report on design guidelines

R2.2 – Requirements Analysis and Game Functionality Specifications

R2.3 – Evaluation and Testing Manual for Phase I and Phase II

R2.4 – Game Design Document

WP3 Development of the alpha version of the video game

Involves the realization of preliminary versions of the three game prototypes to be enjoyed both at home (self-consuming) and onsite.

Expected Results

R3.1 Technical Design Document

R3.2 Production of video game prototypes (alpha version)

R3.3 Definition of the data acquisition module

WP4 – Evaluation and Testing Phase 1

Intended for testing the versions of the video games developed in OR3 on a small portion of the target population, to collect data that can be used in the development of the final version of the applications (beta version).

Expected Results

R4.1 – Evaluation and Testing (Phase I) of Alpha Version of Video Games

R4.2 Final requirements for video games

WP5 Development of the beta version of the video game

Aims to implement corrections to the alpha game platforms to develop the beta version of the game.

Expected Results

R5.1 Game development (beta version)

R5.2 Data Acquisition Module Development

WP6 Evaluation and Testing Phase 2

The objective is to test and compare the effectiveness of the developed video games in relation to the desired effects, using scientific research methods on a larger target population group.

Expected Results

R6.1 – Evaluation and Testing Report (Phase II) of the Final Game Version (Beta Version)

WP7 Dissemination of results

This phase aims to present and disseminate the actions and results of the project to all potential stakeholders.

Expected Results

R7.1 – Product Marketing Plan

R7.2 – Project Website and Dissemination

R7.3 – Publications

WP8 – Technical-administrative coordination

Includes all those activities aimed at creating the conditions for the correct implementation of the project process, both from a technical as well as economic and financial point of view.

Expected Results

R8.1 – Technical Compliance

R8.2 – Administrative tasks
